Industry Experience
Formally of the State Journal Register, Mary has been crafting her voice for a very long time. She was even kind enough to invite me to be guest on their podcast back in 2017.
Journalistic Integrity
As we learn journalism was not Mary’s first career choice. She initially made a commitment to International Development. However after a change of heart, she made a leap into this new adventure.
Now I don’t want to speculate, but something tells me that a career in International Development is far more lucrative than that of a Journalist (outside of being on air talent for a major network).
Taking financial motivation out of the equation leads me to conclude that her new career is fueled by passion for truth, justice, equality and so much more.
What’s Next
Mary’s current platform is NPR Illinois , however her passion for seeking the truth and storytelling make her a valuable asset for what ever umbrella she chooses to work under.
I would also like take this opportunity to thank the following (past and present) NPR Illinois team members Rachel Otwell, Randy Eccles, Lizzie Roehrs and Mary Hansen. Each one of these beautiful souls continues to share their kindness personally as well as professionally and I am forever grateful.
