I grew up in Springfield, Illinois and now I am raising my family. I have worked extremely hard to highlight everything that makes this city great. In the archives you will find interviews from artists, actors, our Mayor and even Batman.
Lincoln’s Legends work has been highlighted by The Illinois Times, The State Journal Register, as well as NPR Illinois.
There are currently 40 episodes highlighting the origin story, but if you are more of a reader I have included a few stories and images below.
Thank you for joining me on this journey, if you like what you see or hear please share it with your friends.
“Be Excellent to Each Other- William S. Preston Esq.
In August of 2011, I met Chris Hardwick in passing at Wizard World Chicago. I had been a subscriber to Nerdist but I was caught of guard by seeing him there. I was focused on other things.
Long story short I met him about an hour before I was set to propose to my now wife (with the help of her favorite actor.. GO ahead, click link.. I’ll wait.) The outcome of the proposal inspired me to be the best version of myself that I could be (still a work in progress).
Now back to the Chris, hes was extremely kind and encouraging to me. Despite pulling off one if the greatest moments of my life, I was a mess inside. Not long after coming home I picked up The Nerdist Way: How to Reach the Next Level. The concepts on his book really hit home with me and changed my perception on relationships, happiness, addiction, depression and so much more. I soon started to look at parts of my life and started finding ways to level up.
In May of 2013, while working for my hometowns local Rock Station (WQLZ) I was approached by Bush’s tour manager with opportunity of interviewing Gavin Rossedale . This was my very first professional interview. Listed below is the unreleased interview. This audio may spark a wide range of feelings and emotions, you are all entitled to your own. I left this conversation with feelings of compassion, empathy, and curiosity. He was extremely kind to me and I am forever grateful. I had worked in radio for 3 years prior and failed to realize that I was more passionate about creative freedom and no longer wanted to play in someone else’s sandbox. Not long after this interview I started working on what would become Lincoln’s Legends.
