In a previous life, my wife and I planned our year around events such as C2E2 and Wizard World. This year has been tough for Cons and yet we need the community and comfort that they provide now more than ever. I am extremely inspired by the optimism and determination of the Springfield Quad Con Nerd Mart & Comic Toy Show team.
I had a chance to speak their event coordinator and here is a quote from our conversation.
“2020 is a year that we all have to adapt, and sometimes that means completely changing the format of our events. We were scheduled to be inside at the Crowne Plaza, and plan on being back inside in 2021. Due to restrictions on public indoor gatherings, we had to switch this to be an outside event. We know it is different, and we know it may be difficult for some to wake up a little earlier….. but we hope people will support this change. And we hope it is just 1 year!”
