Arcades have always held a special place in my heart.
From Mario Brothers at the Wabash Put Putt, Rampage at Cravens Laundromat, Street Fighter at Skate Land North, and Time Crisis at Aladdin’s Castle.
I have many vivid memories of those adventures. However, growing up arcades trips were reserved for special occasions. Since my interactions were limited, I always faced the challenge of how and where to use my loot. Except on those rare occasions when I had $5 to spend, on those days I felt like a King.
I am confident that I learned many valuable life lessons from video games. Such as healthy competition, humility, how to process a success, and how to learn from failure.
I am a life long advocate for the technology, the world-building/ storytelling, and the mental escape video games provide. At a time when the world feels like it’s spinning out of control, I am eager for the opportunity to escape inside a cabinet and bask in the warm glow of nostalgia.
Much like the video game designers who brought joy to my childhood the team and Dumb Records designed a world of their own, and after many long months of planning and repairs, they are now ready to share it with all of you.

“Today, we are excited to open up the Dumb Records arcade to the world. Jeff Black is mostly entirely responsible for creating the coolest thing I couldn’t have even dreamt of existing in the back of our very own space. I’ve just been playing all of the games and getting all of the high scores for the past two months while he’s been working on it.
Here’s a breakdown of rules / what’s going on:
👾 We currently have 10 games (5 pinball / 5 arcade)
👾 Entry is $5 or with $10 of any purchase in the store
👾 All games are set to free / unlimited play (no quarters)
👾 We are limiting arcade occupancy to 4 at a time
👾 Use hand sanitizer before and after entering
and STORE UPDATES for July:
💿 Face masks are now REQUIRED to enter
💿 Our hours are increased to 11am-7pm every day
💿 We are limiting to no more than 10 inside the building
